Pelosi, Bipartisan Delegation Return from Iraq

Doha, Qatar – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and a bipartisan delegation returned from Iraq this evening. Leader Pelosi issued the following statement:
“Today, our delegation paid our respects to our men and women in uniform under the leadership of Commanding General Lloyd Austin and thanked them for their service to our country.
“Accompanied by Ambassador James Jeffrey, we met with Prime Minister al Maliki and discussed how both our countries are proceeding with the agreed upon timetable for the withdrawal of the remaining U.S. forces.
“Lastly, the delegation discussed freedom of religion with leaders of the Iraqi Christian community and met with Members of the Iraqi Parliament.”
