Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today appointed Congressman John Yarmuth of Kentucky to sit on the House Budget Committee as her representative. The House Democratic Caucus approved Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren of California and Congressman Juan Vargas of California to serve the Committee on House Administration, led by Ranking Member Robert Brady of Pennsylvania.

"Our budget reflects our ideals and priorities," Leader Pelosi added. "I am proud to appoint Congressman Yarmuth to the Budget Committee to continue the fight for America's working families, small businesses, and opportunities needed to strengthen our economy. We have full faith that his previous experience on this Committee will be a boon to our Caucus and help ensure that we are doing all we can to create a responsible federal budget that revitalizes our economy and does justice to our values."

"Working Americans expect a government that is transparent and operates as efficient as possible and House Democrats serving on the House Administration Committee are known champions for open government," said Leader Pelosi. "Our Members are energetic, creative, and committed to ensuring that secret special interests are not unfairly influencing our political process and helping Members better serve their constituents."
