Keeping America Number One
On Thursday, I was pleased to tour Anchor Brewing Company in Potrero Hill and join San Francisco manufacturers for a roundtable to discuss how Congress can best help small businesses grow and hire. Our nation’s small businesses are the backbone of American jobs, growth and innovation. As part of our “Make It In America” initiative, House Democrats are working closely with local small businesses to get their perspective on how we can foster the creation of jobs and aid our economic recovery.

Congress must pass the American Jobs Act to strengthen small businesses and grow our economy. The American Jobs Act builds upon House Democrats’ back-to-basics, ABCs plan to create jobs: Make It In America, Build America, and Community Recovery Corps. This initiative closes tax loopholes that encourage outsourcing U.S. jobs overseas; boosts incentives to create clean energy jobs; and strengthens incentives to buy American, especially for businesses building transportation, energy, and communications infrastructure. My colleagues and I are committed to passing legislation to create jobs, strengthen our manufacturing base, and keep America number one.
