Winning Together
The People’s Verdict
This week, the American people changed the course of our country by electing a Democratic House majority. Voters broke Washington’s Republican monopoly on power, restored a constitutional check on President Trump and demanded lower costs, better health care and a government that fights for working families.
With tremendous personal pride, I congratulate our next Speaker, Hakeem Jeffries. Exactly twenty years after I became the first woman to hold the gavel, he will make history as the first Black Speaker of the House—and lead the People’s House in lowering costs, protecting our freedoms and holding this Administration accountable.

Love in Action
This week, I was deeply honored to receive the Lizzie Glide Spirit Award at GLIDE’s annual Holiday Jam. Established in 1929 as a place for everyone, GLIDE carries forward Lizzie Glide’s enduring commitment to inclusion, courage and justice by welcoming every person with dignity.
GLIDE’s mission is deeply personal to me—from volunteering there last Christmas Eve to securing $1 million to modernize its facilities and better connect vulnerable San Franciscans with essential services. I accept this award in the spirit of the extraordinary GLIDE community, whose compassion continues to strengthen the heart of our city.

Golden State Glory
What a joy it was to watch the Golden State Valkyries make history by winning their first WNBA championship. I was proud to join fans at Chase Center as our warriors of Boohalla soared to victory and brought another title home to the Bay Area.
This week, I joined the players, coaches and thousands of fans for a championship parade. The Valkyries have inspired our entire region with their talent, determination and teamwork—and shown girls everywhere that they, too, can soar.
