Remembrance and Renewal

Pelosi Update

Never Forget
Twenty-five years after the September 11th attacks, we remember the innocent lives stolen, the first responders who displayed extraordinary courage and the families forever changed. We also honor the servicemembers, public servants and countless Americans who answered that day’s horror with bravery, unity and hope. Their strength revealed the very best of our nation.

Our solemn responsibility extends beyond remembrance to supporting the survivors and first responders who still suffer from 9/11-related illnesses. We must preserve the unity that carried our nation through tragedy and continue building a future worthy of those we lost. Their courage and sacrifice must never be forgotten.

Candlestick Rising
Earlier this week, I joined Mayor Daniel Lurie, community leaders and neighbors to break ground on the long-awaited transformation of the former Candlestick Park site. The project will create 7,200 new homes—including affordable housing—alongside parks, waterfront access, businesses and new economic opportunities. After years of planning and perseverance, this milestone marks a new chapter.

This progress builds on decades of advocacy and represents more than homes and buildings—it represents opportunity for families, jobs for workers and a stronger future for San Francisco. We must now ensure the project fulfills its promises to the community that has long known this neighborhood’s value.

Leading Voices
It was a joy to join the San Francisco Girls Chorus for the inaugural event of its new Nancy Pelosi Leadership Speaker Series. Surrounded by talented young choristers, we discussed finding one’s voice, developing resilience and preparing to lead. It was a privilege to hear their beautiful performance and thoughtful questions about making a difference.

For nearly five decades, the San Francisco Girls Chorus has empowered girls and young women through music, education and community. These young singers already understand that their voices have power—and when they use those voices with confidence and courage, there is no limit to what they can achieve. Our future is brighter because they are ready to lead.
