Representative Nancy Pelosi today joined Mayor Willie Brown in thanking U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Andrew Cuomo and the Clinton Administration for important changes in Section 8 housing regulations which will help low income housing residents seeking housing in San Francisco.
"I commend Mayor Brown for his advocacy with HUD on behalf of San Francisco's low income housing tenants and Secretary Cuomo for making these needed adjustments to the Section 8 program in San Francisco. I also want to commend Art Agnos, the Secretary's Region 9 Representative, for his advocacy for San Francisco in these important changes." said Rep. Pelosi. "This is another example where Mayor Brown has fought successfully to improve access to affordable housing for more San Franciscans. These changes will improve the prospects for those receiving Section 8 vouchers by increasing the value of the voucher and the length of time they have to find housing."
