As we begin the Holiday season in the company of our loved ones, I write to thank each one of you for the privilege of representing our beautiful city in Congress.
Ending the Epidemic
Monday marks three years since the heartbreaking shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary. It has been a little more than 1,000 days since that attack. In that time, there have been more than 1,000 mass shootings -- almost one for each day.
Taking Time to be Thankful
Happily at Thanksgiving, families and friends gather together to acknowledge and give thanks for the great blessings in our lives. It is my hope that each of you may enjoy this Thanksgiving holiday in the company of family and friends.

Once again, the total dysfunction of the Republican Congress has led the American people down a dangerous calendar of chaos. With only 6 legislative days to act to fully protect the full faith and credit of the United States by November 3, they squandered this week with empty ideological grandstanding.
On Wednesday, I toured the Robert B. Pitts public housing apartments in the Western Addition, the site of a HUD Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) rehabilitation project, with HUD Secretary Julián Castro, Mayor Ed Lee and Board of Supervisors President London Breed.
