After careful consideration, the U.S. House of Representatives has discontinued the House Page Program.
Thousands of young Americans have served as Pages in the House since the 1820s. House pages have played a crucial role in the functioning of the House. I would like to thank all of the young people from the 8th district of California and throughout our nation who had the privilege of being a member of the Page program. It was a pleasure to watch all of the talented young students develop an understanding of our government and participate in the intricate work of the United States Congress. Despite the discontinuation of the Page program, there are still internship opportunities at my offices in San Francisco and Washington, D.C..
I look forward to finding ways to continue enabling America’s young people to engage in the important work of Congress.
