Social Security Administration
Thank you for contacting my office regarding your request for assistance with the Social Security Administration (SSA).
For generations, Social Security has stood as a pillar of economic security for American families, and my office is committed to ensuring that retirees receive their hard-earned benefits.
If you wish to apply for retirement benefits, you may do so online at the Social Security Administration's Retirement Benefits page. There, you can determine your eligibility for benefits, calculate your benefit amount and fill out the benefits application. If you already have an open application, you can also check the status of your case through this portal.
If you wish to apply for disability benefits, you may do so online at the Social Security Administration's Disability Benefits page. Because of the large volume of applications, it can take some time to receive a decision. If you wish to apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you can do so on this page. If you wish to appeal a decision, you can file an appeal or read more about Social Security's definition of a "disability" online at the SSA's appeals page.
If you have questions on any of these processes, you may contact the SSA at 800-772-1213. An agent can help you find your local office, send you the correct forms and answer questions.
My office is happy to help make an inquiry concerning the status of a claim filed with the Social Security Administration, non-receipt of benefit payments or other problems with the SSA. Below, you will find a link to a Privacy Release Form, which will allow my staff to share your request with the SSA. Please complete the linked form to proceed with your casework inquiry, uploading additional documentation to support your claims where applicable.
If you have any further questions or this is a time-sensitive manner, please do not hesitate to contact my office at 415-556-4862.
