Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after Republicans filed a budget conference report:

"Republicans' conferees have spent weeks in secret negotiations with a bad Republican budget from the House and a bad Republican budget from the Senate. It's no wonder the product is such a bad deal for America's hard-working families because it makes it harder to buy a home, to pay for college, and to save for a secure and enjoyable retirement.

"The Republican budget conference report is inadequate to the needs of our nation, and unworthy of the values of the American people. With this ‘Work Harder for Less' budget, Republicans seek to slash key investments benefiting hard-working American families, including K-12 education, college affordability, infrastructure, and innovation, while at the same time paving the way for massive tax cuts to millionaires and empowering the special interests.

"House Democrats believe in a budget that invests in hard-working American families, with bigger paychecks and better infrastructure for everyone. Republicans should reconsider their plan to ransack America's future and come together with Democrats to reignite the American Dream."
