Pelosi Statement on New White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after Jeff Zients took office as President Biden's second White House Chief of Staff:
"Tuesday night, President Biden made a spectacular presentation in his State of the Union address about the progress our nation has made and where we must go from here. As the President and his Administration prepare to finish the job, it is appropriate to express appreciation for the leadership of the much-acclaimed Ron Klain.
"It is my privilege to join in welcoming and sending best wishes to Jeff Zients, the President's new chief of staff. His impressive management of one of the most challenging presidential transitions in history set the Biden Administration up for success, starting on Day One. Our nation is deeply grateful to his strong leadership of America's response to the pandemic.
"The Administration, and all Americans, are fortunate to now benefit from Jeff's steady, experienced hand – implementing Democrats' many historic legislative achievements, while also recognizing that more needs to be done, with a focus on justice and opportunity for all. Best wishes to Jeff, his wife Mary and their children as they begin this new chapter of public service."
