Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the release of a new Commonwealth Fund and Milken Institute School of Public Health report, detailing the state-by state economic and employment consequences of Republicans' plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act:

"Repealing the Affordable Care Act would have devastating consequences for the health of American families and the health of the American economy. Not only would Americans see their premiums soar and their coverage collapse, Republicans' repeal of the ACA would be responsible for the loss of roughly 2.6 million jobs across the nation – and the loss of more than $250 billion of gross state products in 2019 alone. Family budgets and state budgets alike would be rocked by the reverberations of the ACA's repeal.

"Evidently Republicans don't understand or don't care about the brutal impact that repealing the ACA will have on the lives of their constituents. Either way, when millions of Americans have lost their jobs or their health coverage because of the GOP's blind contempt for affordable health care, Republicans will be held accountable."
