Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after it was announced that negotiators have finalized the terms of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement. The agreement is now subject to Congressional approval:

"The finalized terms of the Trans-Pacific Partnership will shortly be reviewed by Congress and the American people. As promised, House Democrats will be shining a bright light on the provisions of TPP and their impact on hard-working families.

"Any trade agreement must be judged by whether it will create good-paying jobs, whether it will increase the paychecks of American families, and whether it recognizes the fundamental connection between commerce and climate.

"We must put American workers first for our economy to grow and America to succeed. Over the coming months, we look forward to the briefings of the Administration and the engagement of the American people in reviewing this trade agreement."
