Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on final regulations on the employer shared responsibility provisions under the Affordable Care Act:

"These final rules reflect the Administration's commitment to smoothly implement the Affordable Care Act, offering increased transitional flexibility for some of the four percent of employers covered by the employer responsibility requirement. This common sense approach will protect employers already providing quality insurance, while helping to ensure that larger employers are prepared to meet their responsibility to their hard-working employees.

"The Affordable Care Act is already providing new personal and economic freedom to millions of children, students, workers, seniors, families and small business owners. We will continue to strengthen the benefits and protections of the Affordable Care Act, and uphold its promise of quality, affordable care for all Americans."
