Pelosi Update

Power of Service
Speaking with this summer's Congressional interns one final time as a Member of Congress was both an honor and a reminder of why public service matters. Looking out at the next generation of leaders, I saw the same optimism, determination and sense of purpose that has always given me hope for our country's future.

I encouraged our interns to be ready, be themselves and know their power. At a time when our Democracy faces serious challenges, America needs young people who are willing to raise their voices, serve their communities and never lose faith in the promise of our nation.

Building Tomorrow Together
I was pleased to meet with the California High-Speed Rail Authority, to discuss the progress being made on America's first true high-speed rail system. Together, we talked about the importance of keeping this transformational project moving forward for California and our nation.

The investments we make today will shape how future generations live, work and travel. By building world-class infrastructure, we are creating jobs, strengthening our economy and laying the foundation for a cleaner, more connected America.

Defending Our Constitution
This week, the Supreme Court reaffirmed a fundamental promise of our Constitution: birthright citizenship remains the law of the land. The Fourteenth Amendment has long stood as a cornerstone of our Democracy, guaranteeing that those born in America are citizens of the United States.

But this decision is also a reminder that our rights can never be taken for granted. We must remain vigilant in defending the Constitution, rejecting efforts to erode its protections and ensuring that the promise of America endures for generations to come.
