U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
Thank you for contacting my office regarding your request for assistance with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Before we can make an inquiry on your behalf, please review USCIS processing times here to determine whether your case is still within normal processing times. You can also check the status of your case through this portal. If you are requesting expedited processing, please carefully review USCIS criteria here.
If your case is outside of normal processing times, you believe USCIS has made an error in processing your case or you believe you meet the USCIS criteria for expedited processing, my office can submit a formal inquiry on your behalf. We will not be able to submit a "case status" inquiry to USCIS if your case is still within normal processing times and you do not qualify for expedited processing, as the status of your case will be shared on the case status portal on the USCIS website.
Below, you will find a link to a Privacy Release Form, which you must complete to start the Congressional inquiry process. Requests for expedited processing must include documentation to support your claim that your case meets USCIS criteria. USCIS will not consider an expedite request without supporting evidence. Please upload all available evidence with your Privacy Release Form. You may also include the most recent documentation you received from USCIS to help my office assess where to inquire about your case.
If you have any further questions or this is a time-sensitive manner, please do not hesitate to contact my office at 415-556-4862.

If you have already booked your travel plans, then you must attach a copy of your official flight itinerary with the Privacy Release Form. If you are experiencing processing delays, our office can check to determine whether expedited processing is possible. There are many cases in which the State Department is required by law to pursue additional processing that cannot be expedited. In those instances, there are no additional steps that our office can take beyond checking on your application status after 30 days or more.
Below, you will find a link to a Privacy Release Form, which will allow my staff to share your request with the State Department. Housing
Thank you for contacting my office regarding your request for assistance with housing.
Affordable housing is a crucial foundation for our shared efforts to build a stronger, more vibrant and more inclusive future for San Francisco.
At the local level, if you are seeking assistance with finding and applying for affordable housing, please visit the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development.
At the state level, if you are seeking information about COVID-related rent relief or require help with other programs, visit Housing is Key or call 833-430-2122. If you are experiencing issues with state programs, your California state legislators may also be able to assist.
At the federal level, the demand for federally assisted affordable housing in San Francisco far exceeds the supply, which is why I continually fight for increased federal housing investments. The San Francisco Housing Authority, an independent agency that serves nearly 12,000 public housing residents and 21,000 housing choice voucher participants, maintains its own waiting list, as do individual federally subsidized properties.
My office may assist individual public housing applicants or Section 8 voucher holders as well as landlords who participate in these federal programs with management and rental issues. Public housingprovides rental assistance subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for eligible tenants residing at housing developments that are primarily HUD-financed and owned by the Housing Authority, while project-based Section 8 housing provides HUD-subsidized rental assistance for privately owned and managed buildings.
If you are having issues with federal housing programs, my office may be able to help. Below, you will find a link to a Privacy Release Form, which will allow my staff to share your request with the relevant agency. Please complete the linked form to proceed with your casework inquiry, uploading additional documentation to support your claims where applicable.
